We would appreciate any feedback regarding the idea of going on the offensive as to the issue of 375 acres in The Corridor that is currently controlled by the United States Forest Service. The proposed legistlation is shown in bold below.
We ask our state rep to pass a law in the next legislature, where the state... if offered... would accept the land in perpetuity for use as below. We ask Washoe County for a similar ordinance.
"That the County and if declined, then the state would agree to accept, if offered, the approximately 375 acres of USFS land located east of Fawn Lane in Washoe County to be held in perpetuity. The land would be used as the county/ state saw fit with the understanding that it is the citizen's desire to see it utilized as some form of: open space, park, hiking trails, a community, recreation and/or nature center. The extra space could be used for a fire or law enforcement substation if needed"
